Symptoms:

There are no typical signs and symptoms of celiac disease. Most people with the disease have general complaints, such as:

• Intermittent diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Bloating

Sometimes people with celiac disease may have no gastrointestinal symptoms at all. Celiac disease symptoms can also mimic those of other conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome, gastric ulcers, Crohn's disease, parasite infections, anemia, skin disorders or a nervous condition.

Celiac disease may also present itself in less obvious ways, including:

• Irritability or depression
• Anemia
• Stomach upset
• Joint pain
• Muscle cramps
• Skin rash
• Mouth sores
• Dental and bone disorders (such as osteoporosis)
• Tingling in the legs and feet (neuropathy)

Some indications of malabsorption that may result from celiac disease include:

• Weight loss
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal cramps, gas and bloating
• General weakness and fatigue
• Foul-smelling or grayish stools that may be fatty or oily
• Stunted growth (in children)
• Osteoporosis
• Anemia

I found I had most of these symptoms, so I started a gluten free diet and ta da, pain and problems gone. I also had a blood test done to check everything else and make sure I am getting all the nutrients I need. My doctor told me that I have had the disease since childhood, but the signs become stronger over time and with more consumption of gluten. And that is why I have been diagnosed now.
My feelings on this new discovery: angry, depressed, confused and jaded. Let's face it, finding gluten free products is HARD! I take at least three naps a day and my legs fall asleep. Those are just two of the side effects from this terrible disease. Oh and to top it all off... this will not go away. Can't grow out of it, can't take a magic pill and you can't just ignore it. So I am devoting my blog time and space to help anyone with this disease find products in near by stores and restaurants with gluten free menus. Also let you know things I have tried and rate them. i am sitting at work bored as can be. Is it lunch time yet? Can i take a nap under my desk? and what if magically all the patients didnt come? i think i would like that.

I cant believe Ethan will be four on sunday. holy poo.

and i will be 19 like soon! ahhh i wanna stay a kid forever!!!!!


oh and today it is me upfront and heather the hygenist in back. i have been taking xrays and putting on sealants since we are short handed. i think i will get into the dentistry field. i am good at it!:)

update

Ethan graduates from preschool today. He loves school, and he gets to go back with his friend Jesse next year.

Friday, we are celebrating Aimee's 20th birthday. We are going to Brick Oven for dinner. Lisa, Doug, Kinzie, Clair and Jill are coming down. It is going to be an awesome weekend.

Also my friends and i had planned to go to the haunted hospital in Tooele, we may or may not go. If we don't we are going next month. It should be fun.
That is it, just work and play is all that is going on.

Countdown

Logan Verl Coles will turn 1 in 6 days!!!!! Along with his cousin William! I am so excited.

Aimee will turn 20 in 53 days.

Mom will be 48 in 63 days.

Dad will be 53? in 132 days

And I will be 19 in 136 days!!!!!

Yo Yo Yo Kristen

okay Kristen made me realize that i have not updated this thing in ages.

Well here is what i have been up to:

Work: Covering for Denise for two weeks, then three weeks for Heidi.
Playing: With Kaylie, Kinsie, Ismael, Brad, Tyson, and the crazy boys that go to Taco Bell with us.
Injuries: I ran my head into a car door and now i am getting a Cat Scan to make sure i didnt do anything horrible. I am sure it will be fine, but i am accident prone.

That is really it. I am super boring. Oh i do have a couple dates planned. That should be fun! I hope!!!!

Sundance Film Festival 2009

Danny,Kylee,Aimee,and I went to Park City to see some celebs.... and we did! Linda Hogan with Charlie Hill, Eliza Dushku, Brent Bolthouse, Adam Duritz, Kevin Bacon, and Mariah Carey. It was so much fun and i want to go back up so bad!
